Mizoram Chief Minister’s adviser, K C Lalmalsawmzauva, officially flagged off a 10-metric-tonne consignment of high-quality ginger for export from Hualngohmun, near Aizawl, on Friday.
Boost to Ginger Export Under Handholding Policy
The shipment aligns with the Handholding Policy, a flagship initiative of the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) government, led by Chief Minister Lalduhoma.
Facilitated by MzSRLM & RWFPCL
The export was organized by the Mizoram State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MzSRLM) in collaboration with the Ropuiliani Women Farmer Producer Company Limited (RWFPCL) and Reliance Retail Limited (RRL).
Sourced from Local Farmers
The ginger was cultivated by 55 shareholders from Sailam and Chamring villages and will be supplied to Reliance Retail Limited (RRL) for distribution in Kolkata. This initiative aims to empower local farmers and boost Mizoram’s agricultural exports.
